Salted McCreery Mudslide Cookies

Salted McCreery Mudslide Cookies

2 ¼ cup all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup dark cocoa powder

3 tablespoons instant coffee

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter, melted and cooled

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg + 1 egg yolk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1/4 cup McCreery Mud

1 cup chocolate pieces

sea salt for topping

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Mix the flour, cocoa, coffee powder, salt and baking soda in a bowl and set aside. In

another bowl, mix the melted butter and sugars until they are combined. Add the

egg, egg yolk, McCreery Mud and vanilla; stir until mixed. Gradually add flour and

mix until a dough forms – should be a little sticky but easy to handle. If you need to

add slightly more liquid add McCreery Mud. Fold in the chocolate pieces. Refrigerate

dough for 30 minutes.

Remove dough from the fridge and roll into small sized balls or whatever size cookie

your prefer. The larger the ball the less finished product. Set on a non-stick baking

sheet with a few inches between each. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are

set and the middles are still soft. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with

sea salt. Let cool completely……enjoy!

Carriage House Tattoo Gathering Favorite
When the Downtown Lenoir Volunteers made 100 dozen cookies for the tattoo artists and their staffs at the 2016 Carriage House Tattoo Gathering, they were FAVORITE BY FAR of everyone who sampled them. The surprise to the tattoo artists was that the Downtown Lenoir Main Street Volunteers gave them as a Thank-You gift to them for coming to Lenoir. Can't wait for the 2017 event. More of these tasty morsels for our tattoo artist guests! It keeps 'em coming back!
