About Us

Our recipe originated around 1840 when the McCreery’s migrated to the United States from the northern part of Ireland know as Ulster. After settling in the Appalachian Mountains they began distilling their own liquor.

In 2008 the recipe was resurrected and named McCreery Mud, which was originally brewed at home and given to family and friends.

Late 2012 we moved to Mooresville, North Carolina. We met with Carolina Distillery in 2014 and began to manufacture our spirits in Lenoir, NC, in 2015.

Today, McCreery Mud stands above the rest with its smooth, satin texture. It’s excellent over ice, over ice cream or mixed with other ingredients of your liking.

Once you’ve come over to the “dark side”, you’ll never want anything else.
